A timeless wedding at The Meadows in Raleigh, NC. Real moments and candid emotion captured by documentary wedding photographer Peter Falla.
Adriana and Michael’s wedding at The Meadows at Firefly Farm Preserve in Raleigh, North Carolina was the kind of day that reminds me why I love what I do. Full of emotion, laughter, and effortless beauty, their celebration was the perfect match for my documentary-style wedding photography approach.
As a Raleigh wedding photographer and the owner of Falla Photography, I focus on capturing weddings in an honest, natural way—no forced poses, no interruptions, just real moments as they unfold. Adriana and Michael's day was overflowing with them.
The Meadows at Firefly Farm Preserve is one of Raleigh’s most stunning outdoor wedding venues. Set on acres of rolling meadows and surrounded by trees, it offers a peaceful setting that feels worlds away from the city. With modern, rustic indoor spaces and plenty of natural light, it’s a dream location for both couples and photographers.
Adriana and Michael embraced everything the venue had to offer—from their heartfelt outdoor ceremony in the field to a candle-lit reception in the modern barn. The venue’s natural beauty paired beautifully with their relaxed and joyful vibe.
My documentary wedding photography style is all about storytelling. Instead of posing or directing every moment, I let the day flow and quietly document what happens. With Adriana and Michael, that meant capturing the excitement as they got ready, the nerves just before the ceremony, and the overwhelming joy during their first dance.
Some of my favorite moments were the ones they didn’t know I was photographing—Adriana’s deep breath before walking down the aisle, Michael’s quiet smile when he saw her for the first time, and their guests’ laughter echoing during toasts.
These unscripted moments are what make wedding photography powerful—they’re real, and they last.
Adriana and Michael brought so much personality into their wedding day. From handwritten vows to a first look in the forest, everything was intentional and meaningful. The ceremony was filled with emotion, with sunlight filtering through the trees as they exchanged rings.
Later, during golden hour, we took a quiet walk around the property. It wasn’t about posing—it was about giving them space to enjoy each other while I captured the natural connection between them. These are often the most cherished photos: the calm, in-between moments that reflect a couple’s real bond.
Everything about this day came together beautifully—from the soft color palette and natural decor to the genuine love shared by everyone present. Photographing Adriana and Michael’s wedding at The Meadows at Firefly Farm Preserve was an honor, and I’m grateful to have been a part of their story.
If you're planning a wedding in the Raleigh area and love the idea of natural, story-driven images, I’d love to connect. My style is perfect for couples who want to be fully present on their day—without worrying about posing for the camera.
