Kayla and Vin’s Morris Arboretum wedding in Philadelphia featured garden views and whimsical details, captured in timeless documentary style.
Kayla and Vin’s wedding at the Morris Arboretum & Gardens of the University of Pennsylvania was a celebration filled with love, nature, and timeless beauty. As a documentary wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing their story as it naturally unfolded, set against one of Philadelphia’s most breathtaking venues.
The couple chose Morris Arboretum for its stunning combination of historic architecture and lush gardens. Their ceremony took place on the Baxter Memorial Lawn, where guests gathered beneath the trees with panoramic views of the Arboretum’s landscapes. The natural setting created a serene and romantic backdrop as Kayla and Vin exchanged their vows surrounded by family and friends.
My approach to photographing weddings is documentary and storytelling-focused, which means I capture genuine emotions, candid interactions, and the atmosphere of the day. For Kayla and Vin, this was the perfect fit. They wanted photography that felt real, emotional, and timeless rather than posed. From laughter during the ceremony to quiet moments shared together, every image reflected their personalities and connection.
Following the ceremony, the celebration continued at Out on a Limb, one of Morris Arboretum’s most unique spaces. This stunning tree canopy walkway gave guests an elevated view of the gardens as they enjoyed cocktails and dinner. The space felt whimsical and modern, while still connected to the natural beauty of the Arboretum.
The reception design was elegant yet relaxed, with floral details complementing the lush surroundings. Guests dined, danced, and celebrated late into the evening, creating unforgettable memories under the canopy of trees.
As a Philadelphia wedding venue, the Morris Arboretum is a dream location for couples who love gardens, history, and natural beauty. With outdoor ceremony sites like the Baxter Memorial Lawn, and reception spaces such as Out on a Limb, it offers both romance and versatility.
For couples like Kayla and Vin, who wanted a celebration that felt organic and timeless, the Arboretum provided the perfect backdrop for their love story.
